In a bid to escape a ‘big built’ man standing at their bedroom door, two sisters jumped 12 feet through a bedroom window and fractured their spines in five places combined.

Hospitalised are Trina Jasodra Ramdhari, 21, who is nursing three fractures to her spine and Parbatie Radha Ramdhari, 17, who also suffered two fractures. Both are hospitalized.

At about 04:15hrs neighbours were awoken to screams for help by the two sisters and mere seconds later they watched them jump out of their lot 91 Mon Repos Block CC West bedroom window.

An uncle told this publication that the elder sister awoke to cracking sounds in the house and saw “a big built man” wearing “a camouflage toque” standing at the bedroom door.”

The uncle, who resides several houses away, said he heard the women’s screams and upon investigations realised that people were flocking to his nieces’ home.

He telephoned the house and the older sister relayed the story of seeing a man in the house.

“So them slip out the bolt and jump through the window,” the uncle related.

At the Georgetown Public Hospital where several relatives were gathered awaiting word on the well-being of the two sisters, an aunt told this publication that the two lived with their mother.

“The mother went away on Thursday so was them alone at home.”

A neighbour, Roxanne Polizado of Lot 92 Block CC, West Mon Repos, said she was awoken by the screams for help at about 4:10hrs.

“When I looked outside I saw the two girls laying in the yard screaming that a strange man was in the house with them.”

The police was summoned but according to neighbours they did not arrive until about 8:30hrs yesterday morning.

Relatives dismissed any thoughts of the girls having any male companion over, and said that this was not the first time that they were left alone at home.

While there was no sign of break and entry to the home, there were some glass splinters on the ground which resulted from a shattered wardrobe mirror. This, the uncle said could have occurred when neighbours pushed open the door.
